John Lewis will be the first retailer outside America to sell the Barnes & Noble device, which is Kindle's main rival in the US
The Nook will be available in all 37 John Lewis department stores. An online store will offer more than 2.5 million ebooks, magazines and newspapers.
Initially, only black-and-white versions of the Nook will be sold in the UK.

Pricing for the British models has not been revealed, but in the US the cheapest model costs $99.
