Non-fiction prize: The Over-40s Non-Fiction Writing Competition

Win a £250 first prize in the contest for non-fiction by unpublished UK writers

The competition, which has been organised by writers Kate Hamer and Marc Hamer, is for lyrical non-fiction up to 500 words, ie nature writing, life writing, essay etc, by unpublished UK writers over the age of 40.

There are prizes of £250, £175 and £100, plus book bundles and publication on the Hamer Writer website.

Writers entering the competition must not have previously published a book, but may have had works included in anthologies.

Entry is free.

The closing date is 25 October.
