The contest is for essays by writers who have never published a book
The Planet New Writers Competition 2023 from Planet: The Welsh Internationalist magazine, is inviting entries of original, unpublished essays in traditional and non-traditional forms between 1,500 and 2,000 words. Submissions that relate to Wales in some way are particularly welcome.
Writers entering the competition may have published articles in print, online and as part of an anthology, but must not have published a book.
The winner will receive £200 and publication in Planet and on Planet Extra, a year's subscription and six books publsihed by Planet. Runners up wll receive a year's subscription.
Entry is free.
The closing date is 1 September.
