Macmillan Children's Books are running national writing competition What's The Story, for children between seven and 12, in association with ITV1 breakfast show Daybreak
The competition will be launched on Daybreak on Monday (4 July). Children will be asked to write a 500-word story. Illustrator Lydia Monks has created characters who are to be included in the entries. The winning story will be published as a book by Macmillan, complete with Lydia's illustrations. Lydia's previous books include Eeeek, Mouse! and Ooo Ooo Ooo Gorilla! (pictured).
The closing date is 25 July.
