London writers' development agency Spread the Word invites stories on the theme of ritual for its new prize
The £1,000 prize is for short fiction of up to 8,000 words by London-based writers. There is no minimum wordcount.
All entries must be original and unpublished, and sent in by writers with London postcodes.
The winning entry will receive £1,000 and digital publication.
Entries should be typed in double spacing on numbered single sides of A4. The writer’s name must not appear on the manuscript. An entry form and a Cultural Diversity Monitoring Form (which may be downloaded from the website or Spread the Word’s Facebook page) should be included with the manuscript.
Two hard copies of each entry should be sent by post to arrive before the closing date of 15 July.
