Submissions and nominations are invited for work written in Scotland or aimed at a Scottish audience

All submissions should raise awareness of gender inequality or violence against women.

There are six categories in total: Best Article (news), Best Article (features), Best Article (student and youth), Best Blog or Comment Piece, Creative Writing, Wooden Spoon.

The Creative Writing category is new for 2017. In this category, submissions (prose up to 3,000 words, poems, max 3, up to 16 lines) may be published or unpublished. Work in the other categories should have been published between 1 September 2016 and 30 September 2017.

Writers may nominate their own writing, or an article written by someone else.

All shortlisted writers will be invited to the awards ceremony held at the Scottish Parliament during the 16 Days of Action for the Elimination of VIolence Against Women in December 2017.
