The fourth annual Fairy Tale Review contest invites stories and poetry for its Charcoal issue

Fairy Tale Review is a literary journal founded by fairy tale expert Kate Bernheimer and produced by Wayne Street University. It is dedicated to publishing new and innovative fairy tale prose and poetry.

The winner in each of the prose and poetry categories will receive $1,000 and publication in The Charcoal Issue. All other submissions will be considered for publication. The prose judge is Helen Oyeyemi and the poetry judge, Aimee Nezhukumatathil.

To enter, send prose up to 6,000 words/up to five poems. For The Charcoal Issue, Fairy Tale Review is looking for work that broadly approaches resistance and protest.

There is a reading fee of $10 per submission.

The closing date is 15 July.
