Since its launch in 1998, The Foyle Young Poets Award has become the largest competition for young poets of its kind – last year there were more than 7,600 entries from the UK and worldwide.
100 winners each year are awarded their prizes at a high-profile event on National Poetry Day (85 commendations and 15 overall winners). The overall winners are published in the annual Foyle Anthology, and attend a week-long Arvon residential course or have a poetry residence in their school.
Poems may be on any theme. This year's judges are Kayo Chingonyi and Sinéad Morrissey.
Entry is free. The closing date is 31 July.
