Playwriting commission: Canal Café Theatre American Season

ba35843a-2e45-462b-bb61-ec6cfe5a6798

Initial ideas are invited for 60-minute plays inspired by the current American political climate

The call for submissions is not for finished plays – the initiative is aimed at inspiring, developing and presenting the work at the end of a six-month period. The writer whose play is selected for development will receive £400 to support their play through a limited run at the Canal Café Theatre in October.

Plays should be one-act, up to 60 minutes long, featuring up to three actors. The American Season will be presented in the round.

To apply, send an initial title, full plot synopsis and one scene from the play.

The closing date to submit an idea for The American Season at the Canal Café Theatre is 31 March.
