International entries are invited for the Allingham Festival's contests for flash fiction and poetry

Entries of flash fiction up to 800 words and poems up to 40 lines are invited from writers anywhere in the world. There is a prize of €300 in each category.

The Allingham Festival will run in Donegal from 3 to 6 November. The festival is in honour of Irish poet, diarist and editor William Allingham, whose best known poem was The Faeries.

There is a fee of €5 for one entry, €8 for two, €12 for three, €15 foor four and €17 for five.

The closing date for the Allingham Writing Competitions is 9 September for postal entries and 11 September for email entries.
