Submit visions of the world in 2037 to win a $10,000 prize package including a trip to Japan

The Flight 14C competition from XPRIZE and ANA Airlines invites writers to imagine that they are on ANA Flight 008 from Toyko to San Francisco when a small bump of turbulence passes the flight into a temporary wrinkle in the local region of space time. When they land in SFO they discover they are 20 years in the future – in 2037.

To enter, write the story from the perspective of the occupant of Seat 14c. Stories may be between 2,000 and 4,000 words, should weave technology and culture and envision an optimistic future for mankind.

The winner's prize will include a round-trip flight to Tokyo for two from ANA Airlines, four nights in a four-star hotel and $1,500 in spending money. The winning story will be featured online alongside stories from other seats by leading SF authors.

Send original, unpublished stories by the closing date of 25 August. Entry is free. Writers may submit one entry only.
