The new East Anglian literary magazine is inviting poetry and prose submissions for issue three, and is running a free-to-enter poetry competition
The Fenland Reed is published twice yearly, with one themed and one unthemed issue each year. Submissions are invited for Issue Three of unthemed poetry and short stories. Send up to two original, unpublished stories no longer than 1,500 words, or up to four poems, by the closing date of 31 July.
• The Ouse Washes Poetry Competition, running as part of Ouse Fest 2016, invites poems responding to the landscape, wildlife and heritage of the Ouse Washes. Entry is free. Entrants should take as their starting point any of the shortlisted pictures in the Snap the Ouse competition. There are prizes of book tokens worth £100, £50 and £25. The closing date is 12 August.
