Kickstarter to give UK crowdfunding a kick up the bum

What projects will you be getting off the ground when the leading crowd-sourced funding platform launches in the UK this autumn?

The US site - the world's largest crowd-funder - announced the launch of its forthcoming UK operation via Twitter.

UK residents can currently crowd-source funds for their projects via Kickstarter but to do so they need a US bank account.

Since 2009, Kickstarter users have funded more than 60,000 projects. Nearly half the projects launched reach their funding targets.
