With a deadline of 15 March, the short story contest will reward innovative visions of how different life will be in the future
The winning story will be published alongside work by Michael Marshall Smith, Marcus Sedgwick, Kate Harrison, Lesley Lokko and Markus Albers.
The winner will also receive a Sony tablet and e-reader.
FutureScapes has created videos of four possible scenarios to act as starting points for entrants' imaginations, which may be viewed via the weblink below. Writers do not have to adhere to these scenarios in their entries to the competition. Stories should address how we might need to use new technology in 2025 to respond to environmental constraints and enhance our daily lives.
Stories should be original, unpublished, 3,000 words or less, and should be submitted through the weblink.
