Aimed at adults and featuring images from classic horror movies, Colour Me Good – Arrggghhhh!! was wrongly listed for sale to young children on Tesco’s website

Including image from Silence of the Lambs, Psycho and Carrie, the book is published by small indie I Love Mel. Publisher Mel Elliott, who designed the book, told the BBC: ‘My products are pop-culture inspired and aimed at playful grown-ups. They are not aimed at kids.’

The book was wrongly listed for sale on Tesco’s website for children aged five and over. The Daily Mail demonstrated how shocking this was by reproducing most of the book’s content.

The book had been listed by third-party distributor PrezzyBox.com. ‘We are very sorry for any offence caused by the Colour Me Good – Horror Films Book, which was mistakenly labelled suitable for children aged 5 and over,’ said MD Zak Edwards. ‘Clearly, the book is gruesome and for ages of 16+. It features scary scenes from various horror films. We acknowledge that this book isn’t suitable for Children.'

Tesco issued the following statement: ‘We have very clear guidelines for third-party sellers who list items on our website, and are sorry that on this occasion they weren’t followed.’
