The theme for this year's competitions is 'Stardust'

The Hammond House competitions, which are sponsored by University Centre Grimsby, are in four categories: Poetry, Short Story, Scriptwriting and, new for 2021, Songwriting. All entries in this year's competition must be original, unpublished and on the 'Stardust' theme.

Songwriting: There are two categories: lyrics only and performed song. The winner in each category will receive £100. The entry fee is £10.

Poetry: Enter poems up to 40 lines. There are prizes of £500, £50 and £20. The entry fee is £10.

Short story: Enter short stories between 1,000 and 5,000 words. The prizes are £1,000, £100 and £50. The entry fee is £10.

Scriptwriting: Enter ten pages of script for theatre, radio, TV or television. The prize is £250. The entry fee is £10.

The closing date is 30 September 2021.
