New science-fiction convention Futura takes place tomorrow at Wolverhampton Light House
Run by writer and events organiser Alex Davis, Futura offers a packe programme of panels, readings and activites by top sci-fic authors and publishers.
Guest of honour are Ken MacLeod, Adam Roberts and Ian R MacLeod. Speakers include Tony Ballantyne, Janet Edwards, Kim Lakin-Smith, Philip Palmer and Rod Rees. Discussion topics include how science fiction has changed and what may be next for the genre.
Alex Davis, who organised the Alt.Fiction and Edge.Lit events and has recently contributed articles on writing genre fiction to Writing Magazine, said: 'I can't wait for what promises to be a fantastic event. We've got everything you could ask for - a wonderful range of speakers, a packed schedule loaded with interesting and exciting content, and plenty of great goodies and prizes for everyone coming along.'
