The prize in honour of the 25th anniversary of Jane Grigson's death is for new food writers
£2,000 will be awarded to a writer new to food writing who has already received a commission from a publishing house. The book may be on food in the widest sense – cookery book, history, travel, memoir etc – but it must be non-ficiton and the primary topic must be food. Writers may previously have written other books, but not about food.
Either the writer or the publisher may make entries for the Jane Grigson Trust Award, which should consist of the proposal or other material on the basis of which the book was commissioned.
The closing date is 31 October.
