The first prize is £1,000 and publication of the winning story in the Observer New Review
The competition, run by Jonathan Cape, the Observer and Comica, is for original graphic short stories designed to run as a four-page story across a DPS in the Observer New Review. Stories should be original and previously unpublished.
The runner-up will win £250 and their story will be published in the Guardian.
The winners will be announced at the Comica Festival at the ICA. Judges include Joe Dunthorne, the author of Submarine and Wild Abandon.
The closing date for the Graphic Short Story Prize is 27 September.
