The contest theme is Poets Under the Influence
The theme may be interpreted in any way the poet likes, including (but definitely not limited to) the influence of other writers, music, nature, or art.
There is a first prize of £500, a second prize of £250 and a third prize of £100. The winning entries will be published in Ambit magazine and the winning poets will be invited to read at an Ambit launch event with judge Roddy Lumsden.
All entries to Ambit Poetry Competition 2014: Poets Under the Influence must be original, unpublished, and no longer than 42 lines. There is an entry fee of £5 per poem.
The closing date is 31 July.
