It's a Crime, a novel-writing competition run by UCLan Publishing, has been won by Jo Powell five months after her death

Jo's first novel, Shadow Falls, was the winning entry in the competition, run by the University of Central Lancashire's UCLan publishing house. Jo, who had worked as a sub-editor, journalism trainer and creative writing tutor, and had published several short stories, died suddenly in May at the age of 53. Her novel is published by UCLan.
