The winning novel will be published with an advance of $1,000
The inaugural competition is for the best crime fiction novel submitted in 2019. Submit unpublished, full-length crime or thriller novels of any form that break away from the genre's stereotypes and offer a fresh perspective.
The winning novel will be published in paperback under the Black Spring imprint and the winner will get a $1,000 advance. The winner will be announced before London Book Fair 2020, where it will be pitched for foreign rights.
Eyewear is an independent publisher of contemporary prose and poetry. It acquired Black Spring Press and Dexter Haven Publishing this year.
The competition will be judged by Eyewear director M. John Penny, a lifelong reader of crime fiction, who will read over every entry.
The entry fee is $25.
The closing date is 19 December.
