The theme for this year's contest is 'It Didn't Have To Be This Way'
The annual Writers' College Short Story Competition is for unpublished writers, or writers who have been published fewer than four times.
There are prizes of NZ$1,000, NZ$500 and NZ$250, plus anthology publication.
Enter stories up to 2,000 words, in any genre.
