The £10,000 annual award is for a book by a British or Irish author between 18 and 35

The Sunday Times Charlotte Aitken Young Writer of the Year Award, which is administered by the Society of Authors, is given for a full-length published or self-published book of fiction, non-fiction or poetry by a British or Irish author aged 18-35.

The Award will be given to a work of outstanding literary merit published between 23 June 2020 and 31 August 2021.

The winner will receive £10,000 and shortlisted writers are awarded £1,000.

Books may be entered by authors and publishers.

The closing date is 31 August.
