Writers all over the world are invited to enter stories that celebrate and explore Australian history
The Stringybark Times Past Short Story Award 2016 is for stories up to 1,500 words that explore an actual historical event that either occured in Australia or had a big impact on Australian history. Entries must be aimed at adult readers and should include a 100-word epilogue that summarises the historical event interpreted in the story.
There are prizes of A$400, A$175 and A$100 and the winning entries will be published in an anthology.
The entry fee is A$12 for one story, A$22 for two stories and A$30 for three.
The closing date is 31 July.
