Creative writing prize: The Elmbridge Literary Competition 2020/21

The theme for this year's contest is 'music'

The winning entries will be published as a chapbook by publishers Sampson Low, who are running the competition in partnership with the RC Sherriff Trust.

The competition invites national and international entries in three age categories: 5-7, 8-11, 11-13, 14-18 and adult. Enter poems up to 30 lines and stories up to 1,500 words (by writers aged 14 to adult). All entries must be on the 'music' theme.

Entry is free in the young writers' categories, and £5 per entry for adults. Each writer may enter one piece of writing.

The closing date is 5 February 2021.
