The first prize in both categories, story and poem, is £1,000
The winners of the international Bedford Competition will each receive £1,000 and there are second and third prizes of £200 and £100, with a local Bedford Short Story and Poetry Prizes of £100, and Cygnature Short Story and Poetry Prizes of £100 for writers under 25. Prizewinning and shortlisted stories and poems will be published in an anthology.
The competition is for original, unpublished short stories up to 3,000 words and poems up to 40 lines.
The entry fee is £7.50 for the first story or poem, or three for £15.
