The first prize in the international contest is £1,100
New Writers is inviting entries for its Flash Fiction Competition, which is for short fiction on any theme up to 300 words.
The first prize is £1,100, and there are second and third prizes of £300 and £200. The three winning entries will be published on the New Writers website and in a forthcoming anthology. The head judge is Shreya Sen-Handley.
Any writer may enter. All entries must be original and unpublished.
There is an entry fee of £10 for one flash fiction, £19 for two and £27 for three. £1 from each entry will be donated to First Story, the creative writing charity for young people. A limited number of free entries are available for low-income writers.
The closing date is 31 January 2025.
