This year's category is the Rheidol Prize for Prose with a Welsh Theme or Setting
The New Welsh Writing Awards from New Welsh Review are for short, unpublished books between 5,000 and 30,000 words. Each year has a different theme. This year's award is for Welsh-themed prose, which may be a fictional novella or short story collection or a book of non-fiction.
The winner will receive £1,000 as an advance against digital publication by New Welsh Review under the New Welsh Rarebyte imprint. The winner will also receive a critique from Cathryn Summerhayes, literary agent at Curtis Brown. The competition will be judged by Gwen Davies, editor of New Welsh Review.
The entry fee is £12.
The closing date is 16 March.
