Creative writing prize: Language Evolves Short Story Competition

Win £400 and publication in New Welsh Review in the competition for writers inspired by the field of language evolution

The free-to-enter competition is for original, unpublished short stories up to 2,500 words that imagine or engage with ideas about how language may have evolved, or may evolve in the future.

Winner will receive £400, and publication in New Welsh Review. Two runners up will also be considered for publication in New Welsh Review. The judge will be Arthur C Clarke Prize winner (and biological anthropologist) Mary Doria Russell.

The competition is free to enter.

The closing date is 1 December 2020.
