Win £3,000 in the annual prize for children's and YA writers

The international £3,000 annual prize is for unpublished and independently published writers for children.

The winning author will receive £3,000 and all shortlisted writers will receive feedback on their manuscript. One longlisted writer will win a place worth £1,800 on the online Edit Your Novel the Professional Way course from Professional Writing Academy and Cornerstones Literary Consultancy. This year's judge is Amber Caravéo, co-founder of Skylark Literary Agency.

Writers may be unpublished, self-published or independently published. Entries may be in any age-category of writing for children: picture books (500-600 words), chapter books (6,000 to 10,000 words), middle grade (40,000-60,000 words) up to YA (50,000-70,000 words).

To enter, submit the first 5,000 words and a synopsis. Picture book writers may submit the text for two books for a single entry fee.

The entry fee is £29. There are sponsored places available for writers on low incomes.
