Creative writing: Granta opens submissions window for prose

Prose submissions open today, and close on 4 January

Literary quarterly Granta's submission guidelines are that writers may submit one complete story or piece of non-fiction. All submissions must be original and previously unpublished. There is no specified length but most of the prose pieces that appear in Granta are between 3,000 and 6,000 words.

Submissions will be considered for Granta's print and online editions unless writers specify otherwise.

For the first time, Granta has decided to trial a service fee of £3 for prose submissions.
