The annual short fiction award from Carve magazine has a $2,000 first prize
Carve magazine is inviting international entries of original, unpublished short literary fiction (no genre fiction) up to a maximum of 10,000 words.
The winner will receive $2,000. There is a second prize of $500, a third of $250 and two editor's choic prizes of $125. Winning entries will be published in Carve in print and digital editions and will be read by literary agents Nat Sobel (Sobel-Weber Associates), Erin Harris (Folio Literary Management) and Viola Hayden (Curtis Brown UK). This yeear's guest judge is Dariel Saurez.
The entry fee is $17.
The closing date is 16 May.
