Creative writing contest: The Grazia x Women's Prize for Fiction First Chapter Competition 2022

Now in its 12th year, the Grazia x Women's Prize for Fiction First Chapter Competition invites women writers to complete a first chapter (between 800 and 1,000 words) from an opening paragraph. This year's opening has been provided by bestselling author Tayari Jones, author of An American Marriage.

The winner will be published in Grazia and receive mentoring from Tayari, a five-day Arvon course or retreat, a goodie bag and an invitation to the Women's Prize ceremony in London on 15 June. Two runners up will be published in Grazia, and get three Arvon at Home masterclasses and the six shortlisted Women's Prize for Fiction books.
