This year's competition has an Expectations theme to mark the 150th anniversary of Charles Dickens' death
To enter, send original, unpublished flash fiction in any genre, no longer than 500 words. All entries must be on the 'Expectations' theme.
The winner will get £100 and the chance to be part of a podcast and to have the story featured on the TAL website. There are book tokens worth £30 and £20 for the runners up. The judge is Sandra Smith.
The entry fee is £5 per flash fiction.
