Retreat West's First Chapter Competition offers the winner a review of three chapters and a synopsis by Conville & Walsh agent Susan Armstrong
Susan is a senior agent at leading literary agency Conville & Walsh. She will read ten shortlisted entries and select a winner, who will get feedback on their submission package of three chapters and a synopsis.
All submissions for Retreat West's First Chapter Competition should be original, unpublished fiction for an adult readership. Submit up to 3,500 words.
There is an entry fee of £15.
The closing date is 6 December.
• Retreat West is also running a competition to win six months of mentoring by Retreat West owner, writer Amanda Saint. The winning writer will receive an initial meeting with Amanda and then a review of their novel outline and 5,000 words per month, either in person or by Skype. To enter, send a 500-word statement about why you are the right person to be mentored, and 500 words of your writing, by 7 December. There is a £15 entry fee.
