Creative writing competition: The V.S. Pritchett Short Story Prize

The first prize in the Royal Society of Literature's competition is £1,000

2020 marks the 21st anniversary of the RSL's competition for the best unpublished story of the year.

As well as the £1,000 cash prize, the winner will have their story published in Prospect online and in the RSL Review.

Enter original, unpublished short fiction between 2,000 and 4,000 words. Writers entering the competition must be based in the UK, Ireland or the Commonwealth.

The entry fee is £7.50. 50 free entries are available to low-income writers based in the UK.

The closing date is 3 July.
