To celebrate Unbound's fifth birthday, the crowd-funding publisher is running its first short story competition

The winning author will get £2,000 and the offer of a book deal with Unbound.

There is a second prize of £800, a third prize of £500 and each of a further 17 shortlisted writers will each receive £100. Winners and shortlisted writers will be published in the Unbound Short Story Anthology.

The competition is open to published and unpublished writers from all over the world. Enter original, unpublished short fiction up to 5,000 words.

To enter the Unbound Short Story Prize, pledge £25 for one entry, which includes a hardback copy of the anthology. Further pledges are available for multiple entries, critiques and one-to-one session with Unbound editors.

The closing date is 31 October.
