Creative writing competition: The Morley Prize for Unpublished Writers of Colour 2022

Win £500 and development in the contest for unpublished novelists and non-fiction writers

Building on the success of last year's inaugural competition, The Morley Prize for Unpublished Writers of Colour from Morley College is inviting entries.

Eligible entrants are unpublished and unagented UK writers of colour.

The winner will receive £500, a discount on a Morley College course of their choice, a manuscript review and a meeting with a literary agent from RML. They will also be invited to discuss theit work on Pamela R. Haynes' Island Girls podcast.

Writers entering the Morley Prize must not have previously published a novel or novella.

To enter fiction, submit the first 30 pages of the manuscript plus an outline no longer than three pages. To enter non-fiction, submit a detailed summary not longer than 30 pages, including a table of contents, and a 3,000-word sample.

Entry is free. Each writer may submit one entry.

The closing date is 29 July.
