The annual competition offers a £10,000 prize for a short story with a gastronomic theme

Now in its ninth year, the annual competition from hotelier and restaurateur Jeremy Mogford is for original, unpublished short fiction that relates to the subject of food, or drink, or both.

The winner will receive £10,000. Three runners up will each receive £250. The winning entry will be read by an actor and uploaded to the Storyplayer website. All shortlisted stories will be published on the Mogford websites. Although Covid restrictions mean it is not possible to finalise the prize's celebration evening, if restrictions are still in place in April the winner and shortlisted writers will be offered a complimentary night at one of the Mogford hotels at a date of their choosing.

The entry fee is £15 per story.
