Creative writing competition: The Elmbridge Literary Competition 2019-20

The international competition is for stories and poems that explore new worlds

To commemorate the 400th anniversary of The Mayflower, the theme of the Elmbridge Literary Competition is New World.

There are various age groups: 5-7, 8-11, 11-13, 14-18 and adult. In the adult group there are prizes of £250, £150 and £100 in both categories: poems and short stories. The winning entries from all age groups will be published as a chapbook.

In the adult category, enter short stories up to 1,500 words and poems up to 30 lines. All entries should explore new worlds.

Entry for under 18s is free. Each adult entry costs £5.

The closing date is 7 February.
