The competition, in partnership with Penguin Random House imprint Viking, is part of the Seriously Awkward campaign for vulnerable 16 and 17 year olds
The Children's Society competition for unpublished writers invites original short stories up to 2,000 words from any perspective and in any genre about the awkward age of 16-17. The winner in each category will receive exclusive advice and feedback about their story from a top literary agent, and writing goodies. There are two categories: writers aged 16-25 and writers over 26.
Entry is free.
The closing date is 31 August.
