Creative writing competition: The Cheshire Prize for Literature 2020

This year's competition for Cheshire writers is for writing themed around all aspects of the pandemic

There are four entry categories: short stories up to 1,500 words; poems up to 100 lines; writing for children (either a story or poem), and playscripts for radio, television of theatre up to 15 minutes. In each category there is a prize of £500.

All entries must be original and unpublished, and may be on any aspect of the pandemic, including lockdown and what has become 'the new normal'.

To be eligible to enter, must have been born or lived, studied or worked in Cheshire. For the competition purposes, that includes the Wirral, Warrington and Halton.

Entry is free.

The closing date is 31 January.
