Creative writing competition: The Bournemouth Writing Prize

The competition offers development prizes as well as cash awards

The Bournemouth Writing Prize, from Fresher Publishing, is designed to boost the careers of unpublished and emerging writers. The contest is for original, unpublished poetry and short fiction. Winners receive industry feedback and advice and are offered the chance to record a reading of their work. There are also cash prizes of £500 in each category.

The judges are Ansa Khan Khattak, Antony Dunn and Emma Scattergood.

To enter, send original, unpublished short fiction up to 3,000 words or poetry up to 42 lines.

Each entry costs £7.

The closing date is 25 January 2021.
