The competition is for storytelling written specifically for digital delivery and reading

The 2021 New Media Writing Prize categories are:

if:book UK New Media Writing Prize: £1,000

The Writing Magazine Student Award: The winner receives a year's free subscription to Writing Magazine or a free WM Creative Writing Course. WM editor Jonathan Telfer is on the judging panel.

The FIPP Digital Journalism Award: Prize TBC.

The Opening Up Award (chosen through public voting): £500

Enter digital storytelling where interactivity is a key part of the experience. Entries should be written for delivery and reading/viewing via Mac, PC, the web, tablet or smartphone, and may consist of novels, short stories, poems, narrative games, or transmedia work using words, images film or animation. Work might be created via word processing, social networking tools, the web, augmented reality software, mobile phones, or any other way that enables digital storytelling.

Entries should not consist of text-based work that has been uploaded to a web page or disc without any interactive elements, or slideshows of images uploaded to Flickr, or videos uploaded to YouTube.

Each entry should include an active URL or clear instructions on how to view (ie download instructions, app access code) and a brief bio.

The closing date is 26 November 2021 for all categories except the Writing Magazine Student Award, which is 17 December 2021.
