This year's contest is for poetry and prose on the theme of 'All in the Mind'

The SaveAs Writers 2023 competition celebrates the centenary of Freud's The Ego and the Id, and is inviting entries about the role of the unconscious in our daily experience and our culture.

Enter short stories up to 3,500 words and poems up to 60 lines for the Canterbury Festival Fiction Prize and the Canterbury Christ Church University Poetry Prize. The prizes are £200, £100 and £50 in each category. Short stories will be judged by Truda Thurai and poems by Mario Petrucci.

All entries must be original and unpublished.

The entry fee is £3 per poem and £8 for three, and £4 per story and £10 for three.

The closing date is 30 September.
