This year's contest is for poetry and prose on the theme of 'Risking All'

The SaveAs Writers 2024 commemorates the centenary of the 1924 British Mount Everest Expedition. Entries do not need to be about mountaineering (although they can be!) and may be about any kind of activity or experience which relates to the theme of 'risking all'.

Enter short stories up to 3,500 words and poems up to 60 lines for the Canterbury Festival Fiction Prize and the Canterbury Christ Church University Poetry Prize. The prizes are £200, £100 and £50 in each category. Short stories will be judged by Frances Knight and poems by Tina Cole

All entries must be original and unpublished.

The entry fee is £4 per poem and £10 for three, and £5 per story and £12 for three.

The closing date is 31 August.
