Muswell Press is inviting submissions for an anthology of Queer writing
The Queer Life, Queer Love anthology will be dedicated to the memory of Lucy-Jack Reynolds, the trans daughter of Muswell Press publisher Sarah Beal. Lucy-Jack died in March 2020, aged 2020.
The anthology will be edited by author and Queer Lit presenter Golnoosh Nour as well as Muswell Press's publishers Sarah and Kate Beal and Matthew Bates, the editor of Muswell Press's LGBTQI+ list.
'I’m incredibly moved to be co-editing this important anthology dedicated to honour the memory of a beautiful queer life and am excited to read submissions that reflect the full complexities of living a queer life, in whatever form they take,' said Golnoosh.
The anthology will be published in November 2021 and will comprise 25 pieces of writing – fiction, non-fiction and poetry. The editors are looking for work that explores characters and experiences beyond the mainstream. The writers whose work is selected will receive royalties.
Submit poetry up to 42 lines, short stories up to 3,000 words, flash fiction up to 250 words and non-fiction up to 1,500 words. All entries must be original and unpublished.
The closing date is 31 January.
