The new prize has categories for adult fiction, YA fiction and chidlren's fiction

The PFD Queer Fiction Prize is a contest for LGBTQIA+ writers from literary agents PFD, aimed at discovering new, emerging talent. Winners in each category will be signed to PFD and supported to complete their novels.

To be eligible, writers must identify as being LGBTQIA+ and be unagented. Manuscripts do not need to be be complete.

• The Adult Fiction Prize invites submissions of a three-chapter sample of a finished or unfinished novel manuscript and a synopsis. The judges are Okechukwu Nzelu and Cara Lee Simpson.

• The YA Fiction Prize invites submissions of a three-chapter manuscript sample and a synopsis. The judges are E. Latimer, Silvia Molteni and Lucy Irvine.

• The Children's Prize invites submissions of middle-grade and chapter book manuscripts. Send the first three chapters and a synopsis. The judges are the same as the YA Fiction Prize.

Entry is free.

Appications open on 1 December and the closing date is 22 March 2022.
