Win a £1,000 first prize for work that shows a positive vision of green solutions or a more sustainable society
The Green Stories project's mission is to create a body of work that entertains, informs, inspires green behaviour and raises awareness of how a more sustainable economy might be created.
The Orna Ross Green Stories Novel Prize is for novel manuscripts of entertaining mainstream fiction between 70,000 and 100,00 words. Submit three chapters: the first chapter; a chapter that showcases how the novel meets the green stories criteria, and another (preferably the final chapter). Also include a synopsis. Novels may either be partially completed or completed and unpublished.
The first prize is £1,000. The runner up will receive £500. Both winners will be invited to a workshop on writing green stories plus industry options that are dependent on whether the entrant is interested in following a traditional or independent publishing route.
Entry is free but writers must show that they've read something from successfully published pieces from the Green Stories Project.
The closing date is 30 December 2021.
