The competition for unpublished BAME crime and thriller writers has a £2,500 first prize

Now in its third year, the 2022 Mo Siewcharran Prize is being hosted by Quercus Books and this year is specifically for crime and thriller writing by unpublished, unagented authors from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds.

The winner will receive £2,500, editiorial feedback and development support. The runner up will receive £1,500 and editorial feedback, and the third placed winner will get £750 and a book hamper.

To enter, send a 700 word synopsis, a list of the books's characters and no more than 8,000 words of the opening of the crime/thriller novel.

Entries open on 1 May and close on 31 May.
